WiLD: Michel Ancel's game reveals new images
The Gamescom 2014 was rather prolific edition in terms of announcements and game presentations. In the line-up of this edition, we could see several titles that have since become very successful. To name a few, The Witcher III: Wild Hunt, Bloodborne, Diablo III, Until Dawn or Assassin's Creed Unity.
But another game, which has since disappeared from the radar, was also unveiled at Gamescom 2014: WiLD. Developed by Wild Sheep Studio, a company founded by Michel Ancel, WiLD was presented as an open world adventure that takes place in the Neolithic, and in which you play a shaman capable of taking control of animals. The game was also advertised as a PS4 exclusive.
Very little else has been revealed about the game. Other than the presentation at the Gamescom, we could see a short gameplay presentation at the Paris Games Week 2015, and some visuals have been posted here and there on Michel Ancel's Instagram account . We know that Rayman's dad is also working on Beyond Good & Evil 2, an ambitious project, but we still wonder what has happened with WiLD.
Although there have been not announcements about the game, it seems that it is still in development. In any case, this is what a recent update of the official website of the game suggests, as it shows four new artworks of WiLD. This is not major news, but knowing that Sony has filed a new trademark in 2019 and that we recently saw that Wild Sheep Studio was recruiting, we imagine that this is a way of telling us that the game is not not abandoned.
At least that is what we hope, even if, given the calendar, we doubt that WiLD will see the light of day before the release of the PS5. Just like the sequel to Beyond Good & Evil for that matter, which has shown very little advancements lately. Fingers crossed!
