Nvidia App beta gets DLSS 4.5 Dynamic and 6x Frame Generation support

The latest NVIDIA app beta update introduces several new features, including DLSS 4.5 technologies like Dynamic Multi-Frame Generation and a new Multi-Frame Generation 6X mode designed for RTX 50 series GPUs.

To access these features, users will need to enable “beta and experimental features” in the app settings and install GeForce Game Ready Driver 595.97 WHQL or newer.

With the new 6X Frame Generation mode, RTX 50 owners can generate up to five additional frames for every natively rendered one. NVIDIA states that this comes with only a minimal impact on responsiveness thanks to its low-latency tech, while delivering up to a 35% boost in 4K performance in path-traced titles.

Another major addition is Dynamic Multi-Frame Generation, which works similarly to an automatic system that adjusts frame generation levels in real time. This technology functions by dynamically adjusting the multiplier to hit a target frame rate or align with the display's refresh rate.

When performance dips below the target, the multiplier scales up to reach the screen's maximum refresh capability. Conversely, as native frame rates improve, the generation multiplier decreases to prioritize image quality, leading to superior frame pacing and more consistent performance.

While higher multipliers like 6X can significantly increase frame rates, generating more frames than your display can show isn’t always useful. Dynamic Frame Generation addresses this by balancing performance with your screen’s capabilities, ensuring optimal output without unnecessary overhead. RTX 50 users can enable both 6X mode and Dynamic Frame Generation through the NVIDIA app’s beta settings, either globally or on a per-game basis.

Additionally, RTX 40 and RTX 50 GPU owners benefit from a new frame generation model that improves UI elements such as HUDs and mini-maps in supported games like Battlefield 6, The Outer Worlds 2, and Borderlands 4.
